Volunteering Opportunity 2026

Volunteering Opportunity @ TBB Food Hub Orpington 2026

Volunteering Opportunity – supporting the Transforming Bromley Borough (“TBB”) Food Hub based at Hope Church Orpington’s premises in Orpington

We are looking for new Volunteers who can offer a minimum of 2 hours (or more a week or fortnight) to help us receive, sort and then distribute approx 2.5 tons of donated food to 12 different Food Banks across Bromley Borough and Downham.

There are 3 key times when help is needed:-

• Wednesday 9.30 - 11am

• Thursday 9.00 - 11 am

• Thursday 2.00 – 4.30pm

Every week we receive 2 van loads of food from the Felix Project (one on Wednesday and one on Thursday) which needs unloading, reviewing and then allocating between the 12 Food Banks we support, together with additional sizeable donations from Morrisons and Lidl. Once sorted this food is then picked up by our 12 partners on Thursday afternoons.

In between arrivals and departures, the team of volunteers enjoy coffee and cakes together. There is a great atmosphere amongst our current team of volunteers.

If you could offer 2 hours (or more) support at least once a fortnight, or even occasionally, and would love to be involved in a project making a real difference to the lives of those most in need across Bromley and Downham, please contact Andy Clare, the TBB Food Hub Co-ordinator, (07734 396360) who would be happy to discuss this opportunity further
